Cash Cow Stalker: traffic drop alerts for the pages that earn you the most

Your top pages are checked every five days. If clicks fall, a ranking slips, or a page quietly drops out of Google, you get a plain alert with the numbers, before a month of lost traffic adds up.

Critical example alert

/guides/onboarding: clicks dropped 34% (from 212 to 140) since the last check.

Position held at 4.1. Search Console, last 28 days.

The pages worth watching, chosen for you

Cash Cow Stalker starts with your ten pages that earned the most clicks over the last 28 days, pulled from Search Console.

You can add any other page you care about. Once a page is tracked it stays tracked: a cash cow that starts losing traffic is exactly the page you still want watched, even after it slips out of the top ten.

Every five days, each page gets three readings

  1. Search Console clicks, impressions, average position, top keyword and index status
  2. Google Analytics 4 bounce rate and session time
  3. The page itself status code, redirects, word count, noindex and canonical tags

Every alert, and exactly when it fires

These are the fixed thresholds. If a change doesn't cross one, you hear nothing.

Recoveries are reported too: a page that comes back into the index, starts working again or loses an unwanted redirect gets its own good-news note.

SEO traffic monitoring without guesswork

No AI reads your traffic and no forecast is made. Each alert compares two real readings of the same page.

Quiet by design

Small pages swing wildly, so click, impression and engagement alerts wait until a page has at least ten of them.

Plain messages

An alert is a sentence built from the actual numbers, so you can act on it without opening a report.

Repeatable

The same two readings always produce the same alert. There's nothing to second-guess.

What to do when page monitoring flags something

A short playbook for the alerts that matter most.

Clicks dropped

Check whether the position fell too. Position steady but clicks down usually means the search result changed: a new feature above you, or a less appealing title.

Dropped from Google or noindex added

Look for a recent release or plugin change that touched robots tags, then remove the tag and request indexing in Search Console.

Page broken

Open it. If the move was intentional, redirect the old address to the closest replacement.

Content shrank

A template or editor change often strips sections by accident. Compare with your last published version.

Canonical changed

Confirm the new canonical is deliberate. A wrong one tells Google to rank a different page instead.

If the cause isn't obvious, run Watch Owl to check the whole site for breakage, or send the page to Opportunity Owl to rework it.

Cash Cow Stalker FAQ

Which pages does Cash Cow Stalker watch?

Your top pages by clicks over the last 28 days, up to ten, added automatically from Search Console, plus any page you add yourself. A page stays tracked even if its traffic later falls out of the top ten.

How often are pages checked?

Every five days per page. Each check takes a fresh reading and compares it with the previous one for that page.

Does it use AI or predictions?

No. Every alert comes from a fixed rule applied to two real readings of the same page, and the message is a plain sentence built from those numbers. Nothing is forecast or estimated.

What do I need to connect?

Search Console for clicks, positions, keywords and index status, and Google Analytics 4 for engagement. Page checks such as status codes, noindex and canonical changes need no connection.

Why won't it alert on a page with very little traffic?

Small numbers swing wildly. Click, impression and engagement alerts only fire once the page has at least ten clicks, impressions or sessions, so one lost visit doesn't look like a crisis.

How is this different from Watch Owl?

Watch Owl crawls your whole site for broken things when you run it. Cash Cow Stalker watches your most valuable pages on a repeating schedule and tells you when their traffic or search status changes.
