Helena vs CMO Owls: a credit budget you spend down against fixed monthly output, with CMO Owls selected

Enrich Labs pitches Helena as "the last marketing hire you'll ever make": an AI marketer that runs your ads, writes your emails and blog posts, and sends a summary every morning. Its $39 entry price is the lowest of any AI marketing team we've reviewed. This Enrich Labs Helena review works out what that price actually buys, using Helena's own published credit costs, and compares it honestly with CMO Owls.

At a Glance

  • Helena runs on credits: 200 a month for $39, 700 for $99 and 2,000 for $199, with a 3-day free trial.
  • Each task spends credits: 1 for a social post, 2 for a blog article, 3 for an email campaign, and 12 to 24 for a short video.
  • Its standout feature is paid ads: it manages Google, Meta and TikTok budgets and shifts spend daily.
  • It has no site QA crawler, no Reddit or Hacker News agent, and no public reviews yet.
  • CMO Owls gives fixed monthly output and covers more of the job, from a free plan. For most small businesses, it's the stronger choice.

Helena vs CMO Owls: Which AI Marketer Is Better?

CMO Owls is better for small businesses that grow through search, AI answers and communities; Helena is better for businesses whose growth runs mainly through paid ads and email. Helena's own home page calls her "a worker you hire" rather than a tool you operate, covering ads, email, SEO, social and monitoring. CMO Owls splits that ground across 21 specialists with a fixed amount of work each month.

How Helena's Credits Work

Every Helena task costs a set number of credits, and each plan gives you a monthly allowance. From the Enrich Labs pricing page:

A Month on 200 Credits, Worked Out

On the $39 Starter plan, a realistic month of marketing uses about 156 of your 200 credits before you've touched ads. Here's one plausible month for a small online shop, priced with Helena's published costs:

One illustrative month on Helena Starter (our arithmetic on Helena's published credit costs)
TaskHow manyCredits eachCredits used
Blog articles8216
Social posts30130
Email campaigns4312
Short videos (4 to 12 seconds)41248
Images and ad creatives20120
Chats and small tasks30130
Total156 of 200

That leaves 44 credits, about three more short videos. Two longer videos cost as much as 24 blog articles. The model is fair, and the Starter price is genuinely low. The catch is planning, because you're spending down a budget rather than receiving a set amount of work. Pro's 700 credits ease that, and Pro Plus lets unused credits roll over.

CMO Owls works the other way round. Basic includes 15 finished articles, a full SEO/GEO/competitor audit and 12 X posts a month; Premium includes 30 articles, LinkedIn, Reddit and Hacker News posts, and 8 UGC or ad videos. There's nothing to ration. See current plans.

Stepping Up: What 700 Credits on Pro Buy

Pro's 700 credits for $99 roughly triple the Starter month, and video is still where the budget goes. Here's the same shop scaling up, again using Helena's published costs:

One illustrative month on Helena Pro (our arithmetic on Helena's published credit costs)
TaskHow manyCredits eachCredits used
Blog articles20240

Longer videos (16 to 20 seconds)42496
Images and ad creatives60160
Chats and small tasks60160
Total484 of 700

Notice the split: the 16 videos use 240 credits, half of everything spent, while 20 blog articles use 40. Pro also adds team seats at $39 each, and only Pro Plus rolls unused credits into the next month. On CMO Owls Premium ($249, or $204 yearly), the comparable month is fixed: 30 articles, 8 UGC or ad videos from Owl Cam and Owl Studio, and posts for X, LinkedIn, Reddit and Hacker News.

If paid ads drive your sales, Helena does something CMO Owls doesn't. Its home page says Helena runs Google, Meta and TikTok ads, moves budget toward top performers and pauses underperformers, reallocating daily. It also builds email flows in Klaviyo and Mailchimp. CMO Owls doesn't manage ad spend or email flows.

Two cautions apply to any tool that spends or sends for you. Helena's FAQ says you get "approval gates on anything that publishes or spends", so check which ones are on by default. And email must follow the rules: the FTC's CAN-SPAM guide requires an honest sender and a working opt-out, and Google's email sender guidelines require authentication such as SPF or DKIM. Our guide to small business marketing automation covers both, and our comparison of marketing automation platforms covers the email tools themselves.

Everything Beyond Ads

Outside ads and email, CMO Owls covers more ground with dedicated specialists. Helena writes 1,500 to 2,000-word SEO posts and publishes to WordPress, Shopify and Webflow, creates social calendars and short video, and monitors competitors with a daily 8am summary. Here's what it doesn't describe:

  • A full-site QA crawl. Watch Owl finds broken links, console errors and failing forms across your whole site, free and unlimited.
  • Technical SEO audits. Owl-gorithm Hacker audits robots rules and compares raw with rendered HTML.
  • Communities. Reddit Owl and Hacker News Owl find threads where your experience is genuinely useful and draft replies for you to post.
  • AI answers with reasons. Generative Engine Owl measures what ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews say, then checks why. Google says the usual SEO fundamentals still apply to its AI features.
  • Traffic drops on money pages. Cash Cow Stalker checks your top pages every five days against Search Console and GA4.

Content volume needs care whichever tool writes it: Google's helpful content guidance and its policy on scaled content abuse both reward pages written to help people. CMO Owls puts every article through a validation check and your approval before it publishes.

Running Helena and CMO Owls Together

If paid ads matter to you, the two products can share the work without stepping on each other. A split that works for many small shops:

  • Helena runs paid ads and email flows, where it's strongest, with its approval gates switched on for spend.
  • CMO Owls runs everything organic: the technical audit, articles, X, LinkedIn, Reddit and Hacker News, site QA and traffic alerts.
  • One message, two executors. Point both at the same product pages and offers, so the ads and the organic content tell the same story.
  • Measure separately. Ads in your ad platforms, organic in Search Console, so each tool is judged on what it controls.

If you'd rather keep one tool, choose by your main growth channel: ads-led businesses lean to Helena, search-led businesses to CMO Owls. For creator-led video, Owl Match connects you with creators directly.

Helena Reviews and Customer Claims

Helena has no independent reviews we could verify yet. Enrich Labs' Trustpilot profile was claimed in September 2026 and had no reviews when we checked. (A separate Trustpilot listing for a company called Enrich at enrich.so doesn't say it's the same business, so we haven't used it.)

Enrich Labs' own site says Helena is used by "1,400+ businesses" and that SOC 2 certification is "underway". Those are self-reported claims; treat them as the company's description, not independent evidence. Its 3-day trial is short, so plan your test before you start it.

Verdict

Helena is an ambitious, keenly priced AI marketer with a real strength in paid ads and email. For businesses that live on ad spend, that's worth a look. For most small businesses, though, growth comes from being found and trusted: in search, in AI answers and in the communities buyers read. CMO Owls covers that whole job with fixed output you don't have to ration, and you can prove it on your own site for free.
